We, the Village’s work is powered by our three committees made up of passionate providers, parents, caregivers, and early childhood advocates: Policy Committee, Communications Committee, and Organizing Committee.
Policy Committee
The We, the Village Policy Committee handles the coalition’s early childhood policy analysis and advocacy, as well as participation with state agencies. Committee responsibilities include:
- Approving and providing input into policy agenda for Coalition based on input from providers, parents, etc.
- Reviewing, analyzing, drafting legislative language and rules that advance our agenda.
- Providing opportunities for providers and partners to engage in deeper policy discussion or tables.
- Drafting, reviewing position statements, letters, or other documents to advance and elevate coalition positions.

Communications Committee

The We, the Village Communications Committee handles all internal and external communications work and projects for the entire coalition. Committee responsibilities include:
- Creating and posting social media and website content.
- Generating visuals and branding for We, the Village events.
- Making legislative and budget advocacy toolkits and slide decks for yearly coalition priorities.
- Leading onboarding for new coalition members alongside the WTV Organizing Committee.
- Disseminating partner events and action items across We, the Village email list and platforms.

Organizing Committee
The We, the Village Organizing Committee works to provide onboarding to new members and increase the size and diversity of the coalition. Committee responsibilities include:
- Engaging various groups from across the state to take part in advocacy actions, legislative and administrative testimony, data collection, focus groups, etc.
- Providing training and public information support.
- Identifying people to testify on behalf of the coalition for various bills and advocacy efforts .
- Updating and maintaining a robust database towards improving clarity around the coalition’s current membership and areas for growth.
